Random from May 2011

May was a busy month for all of us.  Dylan and Rylee had alot of activities going on at school, Dylan started baseball and Kirk and I both were working alot at work and around the house.  Luckily I didn't have to work on Mothers Day and I got to spend the day with my family!  We didn't do anything really exciting but just spending time with  my kids was good enough for me.  Later in the evening Kirk made dinner for me and we ate outside around a campfire.  Rylee graduated from Preschool.  He was so excited and proud!  The teachers held a small graduation ceremony.  They were supposed to have a field trip to the park and have the ceremony there but it was raining.  Here is Rylee getting his diploma... Giving his teacher a good bye hug... Next year he will be in Kindeegarden! In the last week of school the kids had field day.  They had stations put around the school feilds with different activities. This is Dylan a...

April 2011

I'm sure you have noticed the low quality of my photo's lately.  That is because my camera is broke still and I'm having to use my cell phone.  Hopefully I'll be able to fix that problem soon! The kids had their spring school pictures.  I think they turned out pretty good except the quality because I took a picture of them with my phone... Dylan 11 yrs old  Rylee 4 years old Dylan participated in the science fair again this year.  This is one of his favorite subjects in school so he has a lot of fun doing the projects.  This year he chose to do it on "Ice into water into ice." He demonstrated how when something sits in ice it can melt into the ice then the water refreezes over it. (Not sure if I am explaining it good enough) He showed how it works by hanging a brick from wire around a chunk of ice, then watched what happened.  The wire cut through the ice but then it would refreeze over the top of the wire making it look like the wire was...

Easter 2011

Any excuse to make a mess!!  The boys love coloring eggs for Easter.  Rylee used his hands to get the eggs out of the colored water on purpose so he could have green hands!  The color wasn't gone from their hands until the next day.     Dylan's favorite egg...   Rylee's favorite egg... Easter morning...The kids woke up to an Easter basket filled with goodies! We also spent some time to read the story of why we celebrate Easter. The day before the town had an Easter egg hunt at the park.  I had to work but snuck in some time to take Rylee.  Dylan didn't want to go because he was too old and "it's not a real hunt, it is just the eggs thrown out on the grass".  Rylee had fun though and got a picture with the Easter bunny too.  It was a sunny day but still a little cold.  Last year they did the hunt with snow still on the ground so this one was better!

Random from March 2011

OK....I said these were from March 2011, but some of these are from last year.  I wanted to add them anyway and I did RECEIVE them in March from a friend :) . Thes first pictures are of Kirk playing on his snowmobile.  These days, sledding is his favorite thing to do. Rylee has learned to ride his bike without training wheels!!  He totally surprised me one day when I found out he could do it and that Dylan had been teaching him how.  It is so cute to see his little legs pumping the petals.  This first video is sideways and I cant figure out a way to rotate it.  But this was the first day that Rylee was riding without training wheels.   And this video is about 3 weeks later...he almost looks like a pro now!   Kirk has alot of Billiards trophies but he might have to watch out soon or Dylan's skills are going to pass his up!  Dylan loves to play and practice different trick shots.  Here is one that he was working on and he now has it do...

February Family Pics + more

Amanda and Jammie came to visit at the end of February. While she was here she took some pictures of our family. Here are some of them. I think they turned out pretty nice despite the fact that it was really cold and windy... We also went up the gondola on the Steamboat ski hill. It was a nice sunny day with better temperatures from the day before. Kirk wasn't able to go because he was working. It was nice to play tourist for awhile.

COLD and Snow

February is an extra cold and snowy month but this year it has been exceptionally cold at times. The coldest I have seen it so far is -40 F. This is when cars don't want to start and it hurts your lungs to take a breath, not to mention a very high heating bill :( We are so ready for spring!! This is what REALLY cold looks like... So to our surprise the next weekend we had awesome weather. Yes, there was snow and ice on the ground but it was still 43 degrees outside!! That is a whole 83 degree change from the previous week. We went to Clark, Colorado to play in the snow and check out the tunnels in the driveways of the homes up there. Clark is only about 40 miles from our house but it is up high in the mountains. Snow covered mountain cliffs and river... Kirk and Dylan throwing snowballs at me with the window between us and the boys playing in the monster piles of snow. Good thing they didn't sink all the way to the bottom! Me and my honey! And, Dylan standing a...

Random Pictures December and January

I have a bunch of random pictures that I wanted to share from December (2010) and January (2011). Dylan played basketball this year and his team was undefeated!! Dylan has played the two years before this but they never had games with other teams before, so this was a first for Dylan. He had a hard time at the beginning but quickly picked up on the rules and became more confident in playing and ended up doing pretty good and having lots of fun! My kids are always making goofy faces and making theirselves look funny in any way they can think of. After getting out of the shower they combed their hair and came to show it off with their funny faces. I got a new sewing machine for Christmas that I absolutely LOVE!! It was totally a surprise and it really made my day :) This is Rylee's beloved blankie and it was falling apart. When I made the blanket, I made it with white flannel on the back (Dont ask me why I chose white). But after using it all the time and washing it tons it was looki...
