Happy Birthday!

Yesterday Kirk turned 31! Yikes, he's getting old! :)
For those who know Kirk, you know he likes to think that the 4th of July is just another day for him to celebrate his birthday. He bought lots of fireworks and had to get a huge one to finish off the night, it's about the size of 4 shoeboxes put together (he said it's his birthday present to himself).
He took the day off work and decided to work on our bathroom(which is looking so good). In the evening we went to some friends house and they made him dinner and we had his favorite cake. Dylan insisted that he have candles to blow out.
Time sure does fly, doesn't it. I first met Kirk when he was 19 years old, and we started dating when he was 20. It's crazy to think that I have been through 10 of his birthdays with him. I love you honey, and I hope you had a GREAT birthday!

I also want to wish my nephew Derek and my Uncle Derick Happy Birthday too. They share the same birthday as Kirk. (I hope I spelled their names right)

Mini Vacation

We needed a vacation!  We were only able to do a long weekend so we had to stick close by.  We decided on a trip to the Denver Zoo and The Downtown Aquarium.  It was a good choice!  We all enjoyed our time away.

Monster Trucks and Family 2/2013

We went to Monster Jam on a recent trip to see Jordan and our family.  The kids loved it!  It was so so loud but fun to see! Everyone had their own favorite. Everyone went in already wanting to see grave digger, who is very popular but he broke down very early in the show.  Rylee liked the Mohawk truck and I think Kirk and Dylan both liked the dog one the best.  Best of all it was nice to spend family time together! While we were in Salt Lake we spent some time with family!  My aunts and girl cousins all get together for an aunts birthday.  This happened to be one of those gathering times.  so even though it was for a very short time it was good to see them all! Of course no one was looking at me for this photo!!  We also enjoyed time with my brother and his family and Jordan.

Sledding and Snow Play

Since we live in the middle of snow central we have to find ways to make it fun.  But there are dangers as well.  This was Christmas Vacation, it was so cold the whole time and the kids couldn't go outside.  It was usually around 10- during the daytime.  One day it was 20 degrees so I had the kids bundle up and go outside for a bit to play in the snow.   I went outside to give the boys hot chocolate while they were playing and to take their picture when I noticed that Rylee had white circles on his cheeks.  I panicked a little brought them all in, put warm washcloths on his face, and called the nurse line to ask what to do.  They said he had frostbite, stick him in the tub to warm his body and get his circulation flowing, and keep using the warm rags. If his skin turned red he was good, if it stayed white or blistered bring him in!  Thank goodness after awhile his cheeks turned red again!  I have no picture of the white patches on Rylee's che...
