Swim lessons and cool sculptures

Dylan had his swim lessons today along with a group of kids from his school. I ended up driving the kids there in the bus so Rylee and I got to tag along. Dylan is really enjoying swimming...and really, what kid doesn't love to swim.

Here is Dylan learning to swim on his back and jumping off the diving board.

While we waited for the kids, Rylee and I took a walk around the park. It's a pretty neat park, full of log sculptures. They are made from trees that grew in the park (or placed into the ground, but I don't think so) then looked like they were cut down but left enough for people to create these sculptures.

There were ALOT more than these but these were my favorites.
After checking out the sculptures we walked over to an old train car to show Rylee. He LOVES trains. It would have been even better if we could have gone inside but it was locked up tight. There was a small river along the whole park that Rylee couldn't resist throwing rocks into and at the end of the park visit Rylee just played with all the big kids.

That's a really neat park. How come I wasn't invited? I couldn't have gone, but you could've at least asked!

Is that the pool we went to when I was up there? Also the train looked familiar. Is it the one you see when you pull into town(can't remember the name).

Wow, does it get warm enough to swim there? We have been swimming too and there are days that I freeze. I am just a wimp! :) That looks like a fun park. Those sculptures are pretty cool! My boys love trains too.

Mini Vacation

We needed a vacation!  We were only able to do a long weekend so we had to stick close by.  We decided on a trip to the Denver Zoo and The Downtown Aquarium.  It was a good choice!  We all enjoyed our time away.

Monster Trucks and Family 2/2013

We went to Monster Jam on a recent trip to see Jordan and our family.  The kids loved it!  It was so so loud but fun to see! Everyone had their own favorite. Everyone went in already wanting to see grave digger, who is very popular but he broke down very early in the show.  Rylee liked the Mohawk truck and I think Kirk and Dylan both liked the dog one the best.  Best of all it was nice to spend family time together! While we were in Salt Lake we spent some time with family!  My aunts and girl cousins all get together for an aunts birthday.  This happened to be one of those gathering times.  so even though it was for a very short time it was good to see them all! Of course no one was looking at me for this photo!!  We also enjoyed time with my brother and his family and Jordan.

Sledding and Snow Play

Since we live in the middle of snow central we have to find ways to make it fun.  But there are dangers as well.  This was Christmas Vacation, it was so cold the whole time and the kids couldn't go outside.  It was usually around 10- during the daytime.  One day it was 20 degrees so I had the kids bundle up and go outside for a bit to play in the snow.   I went outside to give the boys hot chocolate while they were playing and to take their picture when I noticed that Rylee had white circles on his cheeks.  I panicked a little brought them all in, put warm washcloths on his face, and called the nurse line to ask what to do.  They said he had frostbite, stick him in the tub to warm his body and get his circulation flowing, and keep using the warm rags. If his skin turned red he was good, if it stayed white or blistered bring him in!  Thank goodness after awhile his cheeks turned red again!  I have no picture of the white patches on Rylee's che...
