My Job

So, many of you know that I started working Part time as a Bus (non-bus) Driver. What I mean by Bus (non-bus) is that I drive a Bus route using a Suburban because there are only a couple kids on my route. Not enough to take out a big bus and use all that gas. I am training though to get my CDL so I can be a substitute Bus driver.

Regardless of which vehicle is used you have to have lots of patience because the cargo you carry can be quite frusterating. Just this morning I had a kid get out of the car mad and crying because it wasn't his turn to sit in the front seat. He just started walking away back to his house. What do you do?? I luckily saw his mom and told her what happened and went on my way. If your kids come home and tell you so-and-so was mean or did somthing hurtful (again) most of the time you can believe it. These kids are brutal I have learned while having alot of contact with kids other than my own. Even mine is different around other kids than he is at home or with his neighborhood friends. Now these are the times I remember when I was young.

So why do I do it you ask? This is why. I can take Rylee and not pay for a babysitter while still making some money. The other bonus....Every day that Dylan has off of school, I have off work. Including holidays and the summer!

Here is the Suburbanmobile that I drive.

I let the kids decorate for Halloween. They think it's cool that this is the only "Bus" that has decorations.

Here are some of the kids that ride.

All in all it's not that bad of a job and it gives me something to do so I can feel useful!!

Mini Vacation

We needed a vacation!  We were only able to do a long weekend so we had to stick close by.  We decided on a trip to the Denver Zoo and The Downtown Aquarium.  It was a good choice!  We all enjoyed our time away.

Monster Trucks and Family 2/2013

We went to Monster Jam on a recent trip to see Jordan and our family.  The kids loved it!  It was so so loud but fun to see! Everyone had their own favorite. Everyone went in already wanting to see grave digger, who is very popular but he broke down very early in the show.  Rylee liked the Mohawk truck and I think Kirk and Dylan both liked the dog one the best.  Best of all it was nice to spend family time together! While we were in Salt Lake we spent some time with family!  My aunts and girl cousins all get together for an aunts birthday.  This happened to be one of those gathering times.  so even though it was for a very short time it was good to see them all! Of course no one was looking at me for this photo!!  We also enjoyed time with my brother and his family and Jordan.

Sledding and Snow Play

Since we live in the middle of snow central we have to find ways to make it fun.  But there are dangers as well.  This was Christmas Vacation, it was so cold the whole time and the kids couldn't go outside.  It was usually around 10- during the daytime.  One day it was 20 degrees so I had the kids bundle up and go outside for a bit to play in the snow.   I went outside to give the boys hot chocolate while they were playing and to take their picture when I noticed that Rylee had white circles on his cheeks.  I panicked a little brought them all in, put warm washcloths on his face, and called the nurse line to ask what to do.  They said he had frostbite, stick him in the tub to warm his body and get his circulation flowing, and keep using the warm rags. If his skin turned red he was good, if it stayed white or blistered bring him in!  Thank goodness after awhile his cheeks turned red again!  I have no picture of the white patches on Rylee's che...
