Steamboat Area Flooding

This is one of the rivers here that has flooded it's banks

No. This is not a lake, pond or river. Or at least it's not supposed to be. The rivers are all overflowing their banks and the whole area is under a flood warning. With all the extra snow we've had and the high temperatures lately it is just more than can be contained. Thank goodness we live on a hill!

Wow, hopefully it doesn't get any worse! I am glad you guys are on a hill... that would be a bit scary. Have there been any homes ruined?

Today I saw a house, corrals, barns, cars and anything else around it completely surrounded by water. There have got to be more too. It's quite a big problem here.

Mini Vacation

We needed a vacation!  We were only able to do a long weekend so we had to stick close by.  We decided on a trip to the Denver Zoo and The Downtown Aquarium.  It was a good choice!  We all enjoyed our time away.

Monster Trucks and Family 2/2013

We went to Monster Jam on a recent trip to see Jordan and our family.  The kids loved it!  It was so so loud but fun to see! Everyone had their own favorite. Everyone went in already wanting to see grave digger, who is very popular but he broke down very early in the show.  Rylee liked the Mohawk truck and I think Kirk and Dylan both liked the dog one the best.  Best of all it was nice to spend family time together! While we were in Salt Lake we spent some time with family!  My aunts and girl cousins all get together for an aunts birthday.  This happened to be one of those gathering times.  so even though it was for a very short time it was good to see them all! Of course no one was looking at me for this photo!!  We also enjoyed time with my brother and his family and Jordan.

Sledding and Snow Play

Since we live in the middle of snow central we have to find ways to make it fun.  But there are dangers as well.  This was Christmas Vacation, it was so cold the whole time and the kids couldn't go outside.  It was usually around 10- during the daytime.  One day it was 20 degrees so I had the kids bundle up and go outside for a bit to play in the snow.   I went outside to give the boys hot chocolate while they were playing and to take their picture when I noticed that Rylee had white circles on his cheeks.  I panicked a little brought them all in, put warm washcloths on his face, and called the nurse line to ask what to do.  They said he had frostbite, stick him in the tub to warm his body and get his circulation flowing, and keep using the warm rags. If his skin turned red he was good, if it stayed white or blistered bring him in!  Thank goodness after awhile his cheeks turned red again!  I have no picture of the white patches on Rylee's che...
