A Billion

You learn something new.... A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in one of it's releases. A billion seconds ago it was 1959. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

Petting Zoo

This weekend in Craig, one town over, they were celebrating "Grand old West Days". They do this every year but this is the first one we have gone to. It was sooooo cold. It started out windy then it also started raining so we didn't stay long and I also didn't get many pictures. But I did get a couple of the kids at the petting zoo. They had fun with the animals. They let them get in the pen with them and feed them. Rylee seemed to be more interested with playing with the hay. Dylan was in love with the baby lamb they had, he now wants one of his own.

Wacky Wednesday!

Dylan's last day of school was today. Every day this week they had the kids dress up in different ways to make it fun for them. Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday and Dylan, in true male fashion, wanted to have a mohawk. So of course we obliged!

Steamboat Area Flooding

This is one of the rivers here that has flooded it's banks No. This is not a lake, pond or river. Or at least it's not supposed to be. The rivers are all overflowing their banks and the whole area is under a flood warning. With all the extra snow we've had and the high temperatures lately it is just more than can be contained. Thank goodness we live on a hill!

HI !!

Rylee has all of a sudden become a very friendly little person and wants to say hi and bye to everyone. And since it's so cute I wanted to share it with everyone who doesn't get to see it while they are driving by.

The kid's spring pictures

Aren't they the cutest kids ever?

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day! I hope all moms felt special on their day. Because what would the world be without them? Here is a little history lesson I found on Wikipedia about how mothers day began. The United States celebrates Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May. In the United States, Mother's Day was loosely inspired by the British day and was imported by social activist Julia Ward Howe after the American Civil War. However, it was intended as a call to unite women against war. In 1870, she wrote the Mother's Day Proclamation as a call for peace and disarmament. Howe failed in her attempt to get formal recognition of a Mother's Day for Peace. Her idea was influenced by Ann Jarvis, a young Appalachian homemaker who, starting in 1858, had attempted to improve sanitation through what she called Mothers' Work Days. She organized women throughout the Civil War to work for better sanitary conditions for both sides, and in 1868 she began work to reconcile Union and Confedera...
