BIG Ouch, Rylee!

Rylee got a big ouch in his mouth! He had seen Dylan use a tube from his arrow as a spitball tool and must have tried to do the same thing himself. Because all of a sudden he was crying and when we ran downstairs to see what happend we saw that he had a mouth filled with blood. We finally were able to see where it was coming from and decided to take him in to the ER in case he needed stitches. Thank goodness he didn't need stitches but we do have to watch for infection and he was given antibiotics and pain meds. To top off our night, we were trying to make it to Walgreen's before they closed and our car wouldn't start in the hospital parking lot. Kirk tried to open the hood to see what was wrong and that of course is the one thing we haven't fixed on the car. So it became a big chore just to open the hood. We got to the pharmacy right when they closed and they wouldn't make an exception and fill them. So back to the hospital to get something to hold him over...

FIXED!! (mostly)

Kirk hit a deer in our car. The insurance company totaled it out so we didn't have enought money to fix it completely at a body shop. They gave us a check and paid off our loan. We considered taking our car to the body shop and they said they could make it road worthy and safe, but not perfect for $2100.00. This is alot cheaper than the $5200.00 estimate that was given to the insurance company. But Kirk decided he could fix it himself, so we went shopping on ebay! We got all the parts we needed for about $750.00!! So here are the results...Not perfect but safe and road worthy! BEFORE.... STARTING THE REPAIRS.... THE FINISHED PRODUCT!.... There are still a few small dents in the hood and it's still curled up a bit. But it's a 2001, so perfection is not expected :) Great Job Kirk!

My First Craft Fair

I attended my first craft fair. I had a small and very crowded table but I think it turned out ok. The pictures are fuzzy because they are from a cell phone.. I did ok with selling, every little bit helps! These heat packs were my biggest seller. I have learned some things that will be helpful if I do another craft fair.

I don't like your Attitude!

Something you'll hear around our house over and over...."I don't like your attitude!" This is said in a playful or funny way though. Kirk walks around telling everyone this ALL the time and the kids now copy him. Take a look...I LOVE it :)

Very Spoookey Halloween!

Halloween this year was a creepy one (kinda :) Dylan and Kirk both decided they wanted to be characters off of the movie 30 Days of Night. It's a freaky vampire movie that they LOVE. I'm not sure many people we were around had seen it though because instead of being able to guess who they were they just stared and told them how eerie they looked. Rylee was a goofy spider. This was the same costume Dylan wore when he was 4 it was passed on a couple times and back to us. Yes, it's that cute :) Kirk had a funny but strange thing happen to him on Halloween. He was driving into Steamboat after all the trick or treating fun to meet up with some friends. On the highway, far away from town, he was pulled over for speeding (Yes, he's a great driver!) Anyway, the officer that pulled him over forgot the fact that it was Halloween night and this is what he saw when he walked up to Kirk's truck in the dark.... Kirk said he jumped back and reached toward his gun and said very ner...

At the ear Doctor

Rylee failed a couple of hearing tests so we had to take him into the ear doc. Don't worry, it's just that his eardrum is not moving either because it's almost completely blocked by earwax or their's fluid behind it. He has really tiny ear canals and it is preventing the wax from draining like it should. So here we are getting them cleaned out (a little bit because we have to go back later after the wax softens). He's being so good and patient, not moving or complaining a bit. And here is Rylee 10 minutes earlier giving me the devil snotty face he gives people sometimes when he's not happy or being shy. I swear people think we have our own little terror! Some people don't know how to react when he gives them this look. I swear to you all he does have a good side :)

He hit a deer...

Times have been a little tough for us lately. So in our driveway sits a truck that needs a new clutch, another one that needs a transmission and then this happened to our only remaining decent vehicle.... Not so decent anymore :( Kirk hit a deer and totally wiped out the front end....missing headlight...pushed in radiator...missing turn signal...cant open the hood....Lovely! To top it all off, we are all stuck in Hayden because we didn't have rental coverage. At least Kirk was ok. Now we'll just have to wait til Monday to see what the insurance plans to do. Uggghhh!
